bright and shiny
ok that one should make sense to all the grey's fans out there. now for the funny part of it all-- what i gathered from that whole bright and shiny thing. i find that bright and shiny can only exist in the mind. i try to be optimistic like that most of the time. but as we all saw... not so much a working theory at all. so now for the rest of this post.
***btw been waiting to use that as my title ever since that episode...hehe***
so tonight i find myself being in an odd mood of sorts. giving advice to high schoolers at the grocery store. being overly sarcastic... maybe even witty. feeling like the weekend has been somewhat productive minus the looming to do list for the week.
christmas is less than a month away folks. and guess what? yours truly is so not ready for that glorious holiday at all. can i get a year long 'do over'? sadly for me i just don't think it works that way.
the tell-tale signs that the holiday season has just breezed on in for its month long stay:
1- traffic... really is it necessary to be all cheerful and giving and STILL drive like a conceited jerk wad?
2- grocery store shelves are minimally stocked ... the supply and demand chain just breaks down with all of the holiday entertaining OR are they just trying to make folks think there is a shortage so they buy frantically?
3- retail parking lots are like a serious game of bumper cars ... really why do we wait til the last minute to pack ourselves into these places of chaos to attemt to buy last minute gifts that are as thoughtless as they are meant to be thoughtful?
4- lights ... tastefully done these really do come across as true visuals of holiday spirit. however one too many candy cane lawn ornaments or a blinding remake of vegas can really say 'i'm either color blind or just trying to over compensate for some major scrooge vibes'
i could go on and on but i think this covers the major bases when it comes to the holiday rush that is upon us.
so with all of this in mind and my dwindling caffiene buzz... i do leave the good readers of this blog.
i do hope all had a wonderful turkey day weekend!
much love to all of those i am thankful for... my friends and family!!

quiet time and all that comes with it
Well I survived my first week of oncall for those intrested. 26 hours in two days... all tree emergencies due to a nasty wind after a night of rain in our nations capitol. If it had not been for my co-workers giving me a helping hand... it would have been more like 48 hours of chaos and counting. Kudos to them :). So now my weeks are alot quieter and less crazy. However I do have the emergency phone tonight and tomorrow to help out one of the folks who helped me over my crazy weekend.
I need to get some new photos posted on this thing.... I have been a real slacker. Bet you guys are tired of just looking at text. I promise soon just not now.
Other than that I am just trying to keep up with the day to day. I do enjoy getting to spend time with friends when I get the time.
This past weekend was super exciting for my two fave football teams... the Hokies on the college end of things and the hometown faves the Redskins. Both were extreme nail biters at the final moments.
Other than all of that... not much else to type about. Updates and maybe some pix soon!
