HAHAHA!
I am a CCR! I have tree crews and responsibility to know the answers :)
work is actually going well... these 16 hour days are kicking my ass but next week the money will be REAL good. And besides I have been able to make up all of my missed hours plus a few for this week.
Currently stationed in West Palm Beach in FL... much of the area is still with out power. . . may even be the middle of November before I am off storm duty again! So much for anything resembling normal... I have been very fortunate with accomodations and such... nice hotel w/ electric, water, and internet.
Lets see... what do I want you to know about West Palm Beach...
-WAY better than Miami
-We have Big Foot for bucket trucks
-People here ARE nice
-There is a ghetto
-It is like Brevard... except it has real hustle and bustle.... which I love!
-People put houses in some really dumb places
Now all of that may not mean much to you the john-q public... but to me it is a world of difference from my last hurricane experience
**wish i could share all the funny things i hear... but if i told you i'd have to kill you! **
it is shower time!

don't call me crazy... but....
So yeah I left Cocoa Beach on Friday... headed to the airport in Orlando. Made my way home... borrowed my mom's truck.
Came to NOVA for the weekend... for a friend's wedding... (Congrats, H&K!). So Friday night I tried on my dress for the final time to ensure I was ready for being a bridesmaid. Everything was perfect... so then I headed to dinner with a friend who just scored a new job to celebrate.
Next day, early morning get stuff ready to take to MD and then rehersal. Spent the afternoon being girly and getting my nails done w/ the girls. Then rehersal dinner that nite.... where the lesson to be learned is -- ask for it and you may get it! Who knew you could sub asparagus for french fries at a fancy dinner...lol!?! No I didn't do this... i like asparagus... but I did plant the seed of suggestion as far as crossing it out on the dinner card and subbing...lol. Early bed time... then morning came... way early.
So we spent all morning getting primped and pretty. And rest of the day was spent celebrating and enjoying my friends' wedding day. What an awesome fall day for a wedding! Absolutely beautiful. Hung out with some friends afterwards both old and new. Overall just a great day!
Next morning... I make my way back home. Spent most of Monday visiting old co-workers in N.N. and shopping.
I had an appointment in Richmond this morning... the over all tone of that was so so. Then I drove back up here to DC... gave mom her truck back and now here I am typing away. Tomorrow I have some company affairs to take care of. Hope all of that will go as planned.
I fly back to FL tomorrow... not sure how I am feeling about this ... Wilma apparently had a real good time in FL while I was away. I will likely go directly into storm mode Thursday morning.
Wish me luck in all of my travels.... i know i may seem quite crazy... but all of it has been for good reason!

welcome to the first day of the rest of my life.
I know I am being very vague... but this is my prefrence. If you are really interested in the details or the real story, you WILL have to contact me directly. What I will say is this -- interestingly so... my life has taken some unexpected roller coaster type movements. The whole up and down of it all has REALLY taken its toll on my fragile yet steadfast sanity. My goal in all of this is to remain the level headed loveable creature I know I can be.
With this said... I announce to you -- yet another bottle of wine opened. It is Friday. Change is but the only thing constant in life... and I am celebrating the winds of change. It is that inevitable shift in seasons that sparks the coming of the cooler temperatures and the harvest moon. October is a month of wonder and delight. Here's to you OCTOBER :).
I would like to take this moment to give major kudos to the ABC wine guy.... HE ROCKS!

red red wine...
So I am sitting here. I am getting through a bottle of wine and had a little cake too. It has been a long long week. For some reason I have not been productive at all at work. My co-worker has gotten back and my work load is back to normal. So I feel like I am treading water... when last week I was swimming full throttle. Or at least that is how it feels.
I am dog sitting this weekend for a friend. This is uber exciting. I miss my dog dearly. Will be nice to spend some time with some one of the canine persuasion.
Other than that my weekend should be pretty quiet. I hope it will stop raining so I can get some sun. If not maybe I will find something to do. If not... relax time sounds fair.
well back to mindless tv.... and maybe a little more wine ;-D.

Lessons for Life
THIS IS SOME GOOD ADVICE!
If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout..! run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

nap weather
So I spent the entire afternoon napping. The weather here has been less than spectacular all week. All of the rain has made it really difficult to go to work and get stuff done. Today I stepped in more than enough mud puddles that turned out deeper than I thought. This resulted in me just being wet and grumpy all afternoon. So my extended nap this afternoon was just what I needed.
Tomorrow is Friday. I am glad the week will be over. If I don't get all I want to get done tomorrow, I will work Saturday for a few hours to get everything done. Fridays have really turned out to be real mini-hell scenerios lately as far as work is concerned. I swear everything waits til the end of the week to surface... and then everyone needs an answer by Monday. This Friday is not shaping up to be much different. Since I took Monday off, I can work a few hours Saturday to make up for the hours I missed Monday. Guess we will see how tomorrow goes... but I am betting that Saturday will turn into a mini-workday.
My goals for the weekend include working on my tan, laundry, and some serious R&R. We will see if the weather cooperates and gives me some sun. Laundry is non-negotiable. R&R is almost a given if the weather is crappy.
Why am I watching the news? I truly dislike the media. Guess I should cut this junk off... I mean who really cares about Lindsay Lohan's car wreck.... seriously? Oh yeah the reason I ended up turning this on -- a VCU student disappeared a while back and apparently her body has turned up in the county next to my hometown... which by the way is smaller than my hometown. Hope they find who murdered her and they are appropriately punished.... it really is so sad. :(
Gonna call it a night for now.

simply my opinion
I am likely about to piss you off. Don't take what I say personally or as an attack to your opinion. I am simply using this space to vent my opinion on a subject. If you don't like my opinion feel free to leave a comment if you wish or just not read this post. Consider yourself warned.
Subject... doctor assisted suicide for critically ill paitents. Now I have not done alot of research on the subject... and this is purely fueled by a newscast I saw tonight. But honestly... what the hell?!?! If a person in poor health wishes to ease/end their suffering in a manner in which they don't have to linger on and be in pain... what business is it of the government's? They are claiming it a misuse of drugs... now here is my big question... what is any bigger misuse of drugs than the prepetual increase in cost associated with such substances. For many individuals to be given any quantity of life they are obligated to spend unheard of amounts of money on such meds. Now if a person wants to enjoy the what ever quality of life that they can possibly have and opt out of meds with the exception of having them help them pass on in a dignified manner... why the hell not? What is the difference in using drugs intended to extend life for extension of life and using drugs intended for the ending of life for their intended purpose?
Do we really want to force people to go about messier ways of ending their existence? Desperate times often fuel desperate measures... especially in people hopped up on pain meds and antidepressants. If one is determined to end their life ... they will likely find a way. Why not give them the option of doing it legally and peacefully in the care of a medical professional?
Ok... I have said my piece. I feel a little less angry now. I am sure the government will do as they please with this topic. Sadly.
Now back to my regularly scheduled blog... in the next post.

back to the real world
So I went to work today... and it was work... and then I came home. I am now sitting here mulling over my day. Wish I had something interesting to share. Sometimes I feel like a walking horoscope... or maybe a fortune cookie. I know this sounds odd. But really this is how I feel nowadays.
Sorry not much of a blogger today... maybe tomorrow.
